Why we began

Service Labcore grew from a recurring problem in relocation work: people received help with a visa or moving van, yet faced the rental market alone. A German listing compresses important distinctions—Kaltmiete, Nebenkosten, fitted kitchen, index rent—into a few lines. For a newcomer under temporary-accommodation pressure, those distinctions shape years of household costs.

We formed the practice in Berlin to put an experienced person beside the renter during that gap. Our role is educational and practical. We make local conventions legible, prepare sound applications and encourage clients to pause when a contract or compromise deserves scrutiny.

Your advisers

Mara Klein, lead relocation adviser, has worked with international households in Berlin, Potsdam and Leipzig since 2017. Her focus is rental documentation, neighbourhood fit and family move planning. She works in German and English.

Jonas Reed, housing transition adviser, combines tenant-support experience with first-hand relocation between Hamburg, Cologne and Berlin. He handles viewing preparation, commute trade-offs and tenancy handovers. He works in English and German.

Where a question becomes legal, tax-related or immigration-specific, we say so and direct the client to an appropriately qualified professional. We do not receive commission from landlords, listing sites or removal firms.

How we behave

We protect the renter’s budget rather than treating the maximum as a target. We distinguish a common market practice from a legal requirement. We ask before retaining documents, minimise personal information, and delete working copies according to our privacy schedule. Above all, we leave decisions with the household whose life will unfold at the address.
